How to begin reading the Bible

The Bible is a library of texts rather than a single continuous book. Christian Bibles contain writings spanning history, poetry, wisdom, prophecy, gospel and letters.

Why context matters

A short verse may belong to a poem, story, teaching or argument. Reading the surrounding chapter and knowing the literary genre can change how a passage is understood.

Translations

English readers have many translations. Scroll My Faith’s starter corpus uses public-domain wording where possible and labels the source so readers know what they are seeing.
